Arthur R Outlaw Mobile Convention Center
Logo redesign for convention center
Show Details Hide Details
When the Arthur R. Outlaw Mobile Convention Center came to me for assistance with redesigning their logo, I knew I wanted it to be special. Together we explored concepts that emphasized the building's unique architecture, its location on the waterfront, nautical imagery, the distinctive Mobile skyline, and azaleas. After many rounds of revisions and iterating on existing designs, we ended up settling on a sleek, modern design that emphasizes the building, the city, and the subtle waves of the Mobile River.

Logo and variations for vintage clothing boutique

Sometimes a design practically makes itself. This client had a vision for a mobile vintage clothing popup that emphasized color, creativity, and retro fun. After the initial exploration, we decided to combine two of the concepts and tweak the colors, and soon enough the client was ready to roll!

Attune
Logo and UI design for mental wellness app
Show Details Hide Details
Attune (now rebranded as Metattune) is a mental health app that uses Attention Training Technique (ATT) for use in metacognitive therapy. I worked with the client (Rocket Cafe) to explored various concepts based around sound, hearing, and the mind, because the technique consists of actively listening to and focusing attention on various sounds in controlled, guided ways. In the end, we settled on a logo concept that used the brain to emphasize the mental health benefits of the app while subtly highlighting the auditory cortex in pink.

“Tripp was a tremendous asset to our project (a mobile mental health app). He helped us think through design choices, created a variety of options, and refined where we needed it. Best of all he was friendly, quick to respond, and worked with us to fit in our budget! His designs and color palette choices reinforced the calm, focused nature of our app. Much better than anything we or AI could've come up with!”

Aster and the Fire
Logo redesign for Afrofuturist webcomic
Show Details Hide Details
Aster and the Fire is a scifi/fantasy webcomic about a hovercar mechanic trying to eke out a living while hiding her magical heritage. The author draws inspiration from Afrofuturist stories like the Black Panther as well as her own Ethiopian heritage, so I worked with her to designed custom typography based off of the Ethiopian Amharic script for something that looks sci-fi while staying tied to its cultural roots.
